Ellen E. Meyers, 93, of Palm Coast, died Friday, October 11, 2019, at Brookdale of Palm Coast.

She was born June 28, 1926 in Providence, Rhode Island, daughter of Howlan and Florence Wahl, nèe Muspratt. Ellen was 12 years old when she and her siblings went into an orphanage and, later, foster homes. Growing up, she was able to keep in contact with her brother and sisters. At the age of 18, she met Anton Graybosch, who was from Bayshore, Long Island, and was in Navy training during WWII, at a roller skating rink in Providence. Shortly thereafter, they were married and moved to Bayshore. Ellen worked for New York Telephone, and they then moved to East Islip, where she and Anton raised their eight children while Andy worked for the A&P. After raising their children, she worked for DCC Sales, distributors of the famous Chunky bar. In 1977, she and Andy moved to Connecticut until they retired, moving to Palm Coast in 1991.

Andy passed away a few years later in 1993.

While attending dances at the VFW, Ellen met Theodore “Ted” Meyers, whom she married in 1998. They were together for nine years until his death in 2007.

Ellen was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the VFW Post 8696 Auxiliary, the American Legion, NARFE, and the Memorial-Flagler Hospital Auxiliary, where she proudly had over 7,000 volunteer hours. She also served as president and treasurer of the Flagler Chapter of T.O.P.S. She enjoyed playing BINGO at Mother Seton, the Italian American Club, and the Knights of Columbus hall, where she had many friends. Ellen always supported St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School and helped in its creation as a member of the church board.

For the past 16 years, she took great pride in helping to raise her two youngest granddaughters, Cassidy and Lindsey Graybosch. Holidays and large family gatherings, which had always been near and dear to her, continued in Florida with her sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Millie Caudill, and all of her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the annual Christmas and Fourth of July gatherings held at family members’ homes in Deltona.

Ellen is survived by seven children: Anthony “Bing” (Divna) Graybosch of Kalaheo, HI; Gary (Louise) Graybosch of East Islip, NY; Robert (Brigid) Graybosch of Lincoln, NE; James (Denise) Graybosch of Lewisburg, PA; Francis (Debbie) Graybosch of Center Moriches, NY; Leah (Robert) Segarra of Sunnyside, NY; and Eugene (Mary) Graybosch of Palm Coast, FL; one daughter-inlaw, Ivana Crudele, of Watertown, CT; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son David Graybosch, her four sisters, Florence, Margaret, Margie, and Louise, and her brother, Henry.

Family and friends will be received Friday, October 25, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at CraigFlagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast, with Rev. Jim May officiating.
