Jerry Slovak, 76, Korona, died Thursday, June 8, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Czechoslovakia on October 17, 1896 and migrated to Pennsylvania in 1921.

He moved to Korona in 1927 and has resided there for the past forty-five years. He was a retired poultry farmer and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Korona. The Rosary was said at 7 p.m., Friday, at Craig Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary’s Church in Korona at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Officiating were Msg. William McKeever, Father Vincent Smith and Father Anthony Leon.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Antoinette Slovak; three daughters: Mrs. Miriam E. Criscione, New Jersey; Mrs. Barbara A Clague, New York; Mrs. Theresa M. Awan, Virginia; seven sons: Joseph F., Texas; Paul J., New York; John L. and Leo A, Korona; Thomas G., Miami; Gerard P., Homestead Air Force Base, Florida, and Cyril M, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. There were seventeen grandchildren, three sisters and six brothers.

Craig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
