KORONA – Stanley S. Smigielski, 84, County Road 335, died Monday afternoon at the Ormond Beach Health Care Center.

Mr. Smigielski, an early settler of Korona, was born in Lowell, Mass., and moved here 66 years ago. Before his retirement, he was the manager of the Moundgrove Fruit Company. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Korona Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel, Korona, and Rudolf, Cocoa Beach; a brother Charles, Korona; a sister Viola Washburn, Providence, R.I.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral Mass for Stanley S. Smigielski, 84, County Road 335, Korona, who died Monday afternoon at the Ormond Beach Health Care Center, Ormond Beach, will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Korona, with the Rev. Father Anthony Sebra officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Craig Chapel will be today (Wednesday) from 6 until 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Mr. Smigielski was born in Lowell, Mass., and came to the Flagler County area 66 years ago. He was one of the early Korona pioneers, and before his retirement he was manager of Moundgrove Fruit Company. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Korona, and a member of the Korona Volunteer Fire Department.
