Mrs. Shirley Porte Tidwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Porte of Flagler Beach, passed away early Sunday morning in Good Samaritan Hospital in Macon, Mo., after a long illness. She was 25 years of age.
She was hospitalized while enroute with her husband to a military installation at Omaha, Neb. She was a native of Detroit and had lived in Flagler Beach for 11 years. She was a 1956 graduate of Bunnell High School, where she was secretary of the FHA Club, member of the Glee Club and the school newspaper staff.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Tidwell, U. S. Air Force; a son, Donnie Tidwell; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Porte, Flagler Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Richard Allen and Mrs. William Dulaney, both of Jacksonville; a brother, Mervin Porte of LaHabra, Calif.; and her grandmother, Mrs. Anna Porte.
Funeral services win be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church with Father Diago Conesa officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Korona.
The Rosary will be said at 8 P. M. Thursday evening at the Chapel of Craig Funeral Home, 201 East Moody Blvd. Friends may call at the chapel from 3 o'clock this afternoon until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers are Elmer Slough, George Skolar, Zeke Chaffee, Cletus Strauser, Buddy Chambers, and Jack Holt.
