Barney Trojan, owner and long-time operator of the White Eagle Hotel and Restaurant at Korona, passed away early Saturday morning at the Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine after an illness of several months.
Mr. Trojan was born in Poland and came to Korona from Chicago, Ill., in 1914. He lived there and was active in community, church, and political affairs for 48 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Trojan, Korona; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Drazba of Korona; Mrs. Wanda Zeller, Oceanside, Calif.; two sons, Henry Trojan, Newport, R. I.; Zeno Trojan, Korona; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Albrecht, Chicago; Mrs. Jeanette Olezewski and Mrs. Doris Williams, both of Gary, Ind.; two brothers, Mitchell Kowaleski and Theodore Kowaleski, Chicago. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. Mary Catholic Church of Korona. Father Diego Conesa officiated in the Requiem Mass. The Rosary was read at the Craig Chapel Tuesday night. Interment followed at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Korona.
Pallbearers were: Ted Krol, John Cyzycki, Jerry Slovak, Paul Stanish, Stanley Smigielski, and Henry Zeller.
Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell was in charge of arrangements.
