Walter Wolecki of St. Augustine passed away on Oct. 16, 2006, at his home at the age of 91. Walter was born in Poland on April 2, 1915. He was a veteran of World War II. He survived five years of confinement and forced labor in Germany.
In 1950 he came to the U.S.A. and settled in Utica, N.Y. He was a very active member of the Polish-American Veteran Club in Utica. In 1977 he retired from Utica Club Brewery and relocated to St. Augustine Shores.
Walter and his wife were active members of the Polonia Society of Korona. Walter is predeceased by his wife, Jadwiga in 1994.

ST. AUGUSTINE - Walter Wolecki, 91, of St. Augustine, a former resident of Daytona Beach, died Monday at home.
Mr. Wolecki, a veteran of the Polish army during World War II, was born in Poland. He was a member of' St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Polonia Society, both of Korona. He enjoyed socializing.
Survivors include his nephews, Piotr and Ignacy Wolecki, both of St. Augustine, and both of whom provided for his care.
